a LOOONG time ago Dave’s mum gave us this book of iron ons, plus some tshirts. I wanted to blog them, and this was before the long days had started, so I put them away meaning to photograph them ‘soon’. Well, soon turned out to be only the other week, when I found the tshirts, which were 12-18 month size, so I thought I’d better get on with it. Thankfully Milo is a microbe so the tshirts still fit fine.
The designs are all super cute! However, if I’m being perfectly honest I wouldn’t recommend these iron ons. We attempted four tshirts, and only these two worked. On one the images didn’t come off the paper at all, just left random blots of colour on the tshirt which I don’t think can be rescued. On the other one not shown here, the picture did stick to the fabric, but then the paper you are supposed to pull off, ripped and didn’t come off. I’m hoping it will eventually come off after a few washes.
But yeah, the process isn’t easy. The instructions say don’t leave too short and don’t leave too long, and that it would take about 30 seconds for the thing to bond on the fabric. Well, that’s utter rubs. It needs WAY longer than that, so I would defo err on the side of too long. It does bleed out the colours which is what happened to the lion on the MILO tshirt, but that’s definitely better than having a half attached decal.
But anyway, here’s Milo wearing it, and it is cute! I will be trying again with these, but I really wouldn’t spend money on them, or give them to anyone as a present or anything.
