This is what I wore for my birthday in the evening. We had planned to have a barbecue in our garden, but unfortunately the weather had other ideas. About an hour before the start time, monsoon like rain started to the point where I was getting texts asking if it was still on. Well it was on, it just wasn’t a barbecue! I wore my summery outfit anyway, which was fine since we had made it home before the rain started for reals (you’re welcome, Dave!) and it wasn’t like it was cold. but it was somewhat odd with guests arriving encased in waterproofs! Anyway, it was good fun and we’re hoping to manage a real barbecue yet.
This dress is now very tight around the hips. I may have to do something about that before this trend continues and I won’t fit into my existing clothes any more. But not until after I’ve finished studying in October, because I have to be super careful with food restriction as it has a tendency to wreak havoc with my (and I would argue most people’s) mood and capacity to concentrate, which is already much lower than it used to be due to toddler demands and associated lack of sleep. So for now I’ll just keep focussing on keeping fit, which is much more important and healthy anyway!
