Last weekend, we went to the National Museum for this knitting event organised by the Danish institute. there were workshops and a ‘nordic knitathon’, aka you could sit and knit a square they sewed it together into one giant blanket. We were there with Milo and my parents were here, so I never did knit a square, but I did get a chance to look at the knitted clothes on display in the main hal. They’re pretty cool aren’t they? The blue and red thing is by the cashmere company Brora, so are available commercially, the rest were by the Icelandic company STEiNUNN (the black/grey stuff that didn’t photograph very well but is goregous) and Danish designer Maiken Espensen (everything else). Oh, and the crochet dolls are by Norwegians Arne and Carlos.
