A bit of my own knitting for you today for a change! This is another knit night (see my first one here), which I made for my mum’s birthday (rubbish pictures because I needed to get it in the post so couldn’t wait for better weather and outside pictures). The yarn is by yarnpony, it’s the leftovers from Milo’s yike’s stripes! baby cardigan. There was just under 100g left.
This version is a little bit less interesting than my first one as it has no eyelets. With the first one I started the cast off with 20 per cent of the yarn left as per instructions, but that was way too early, I added an extra row after the eyelets and there was still at least another row’s worth left over at the end. So this time I overcompensated and started the cast off edge when there was less than 20 per cent left, and that wasn’t enough, and I ended up having to unknit rows twice. I lost patience in the end and just ditched the eyelets cos I couldn’t face unkitting yet more rows. The main problem I think was that I used our mechanical kitchen scales, which are not the most accurate things in the world, whereas with the first one I used my parents’ digital ones.
But anyway, it’s a pleasure to knit, I really like it even without the eyelets and my mum likes it so it’s all good!
