Deer and doe plantain no.2

Plaintain no 2
Giant pond rhubarb

This is the second deer and doe (not doe and deer, I always hashtag it wrong) plaintain I made. I thought I could squeeze long sleeves out of 1.2m, but actually not so 3/4 length it was. The fabric is that bamboo Jersey I like. It was a helluva lot easier to sew than the blue viscose of plaintain 1, and it’s definitely tidier (just one tiny pucker in the neckline) though looking at the pictures it does look a bit messy. It maybe just needs an iron and I’m wearing too many things underneath causing lots of lines but there’s a lot of random blobs in the fabric. I’m also not that sure of the colour. The shop have run out of the most classic colours now, or I would have got navy, but I thought this one was nice though in retrospect it’s a bit browney. I did ask them a while ago if they were going to restock but the guy was noncommittal and thought that they would only get it as a bulk order so we’re waiting for more colours to run out. I guess I’ll look for it online somewhere if I want to make another Jersey thing (which I probably don’t for a while).

The skirt is also new. I had this jersey maternity skirt that was like a skater skirt, which I really liked wearing, but the bump band is now too big (yay, I guess) so it just looks and feels ridiculous.

Lovely photos! Your plantain looks great, isn’t it such a good pattern?! I like the colour of this too, though hopefully your local shop gets more colours soon to give you more choice!
