Deer and Doe Plantain no.3

Here’s the final product of my short phase of sewing productivity when I still had my parents about the house to take Ellis for a bit. It’s another Plantain, and it’s definitely the best/tidiest one yet. The fabric is some liberty jersey I bought at a sewing meet up ages ago, so it’s only fitting I wore this to another one. Here’s everyone:

Kerry, Helen, Elaine, Clare, Debi, Joyce, Liz, Jen, me

We went to see the Pringle of Scotland exhibition and lunch at Spoon and then fabric shopping, which I skipped because I had Ellis with me. He’d been asleep pretty much solidly for three and a half hours and I felt I had pushed my luck enough! The main thing was to catch up with the sewing ladies anyway!

Anyway, I think that’ll be the last plantain for a while, although I do still have enough of the liberty left over for sleeves, neckband and maybe even a bottom band, so if I could magically find some colour coordinating fabric (maybe turquoise) of the right weight and stretchiness I might make one more.

That looks and sounds like such a lovely day! I love this Liberty fabric, and it looks great on you! I hope you can find some co-ordinating fabric so you can use up the left-overs!

It was! So do I, had a look in John Lewis today actually but no luck, and I don’t want to buy online because of weight/stretchiness. Need to figure out exactly how much I need for just the front and back pieces anyway

Lovely fabric and a lovely top. I’ve been wondering about the Plantain top for a wee while now so it’s good to see it made up. Lovely to meet you on Sunday, and the wonderful Ellis. Hope he’s a good sleeper during the night too!

It was great to meet you too! That was a very unusual stretch of sleeping unfortunately!
