We’ve decided to do the weekly chair pictures again this time. Different chair and different teddy though, and no fancy graphics, I’ll be going back to work in the new year and I need it to be as straightforward as possible so I don’t fall behind massively again.
We’re doing pretty well all things considered. As I mentioned, Ellis was big to start off with and he’s stayed that way, which makes things a lot easier as we don’t have to worry about him gaining weight at all. His feeding’s great, although he is following in his brother’s footsteps with regular and enthusiastic milk vomiting. We’re currently averaging 4 outfits a day! His being so sturdy also means he could lift his head from really early on, and he’s turned over from his back onto his side quite a few times. I googled it as that did seem worryingly early and found nothing on three week olds turning (I found some stuff on three months olds, although that was turning around completely) but when I mentioned it to the health visitor, she didn’t seem that impressed, so maybe not that unusual after all.
His sleeping’s still fine as well, he tends to be all relaxed and sleepy in the morning and be awake and cry in the evenings, but at least he’s usually calmed down by the time we go to bed. I think I mentioned we’ve managed to get him to settle in his crib now which is nice. No progress on keeping him in there all night yet though, but that’s probably because I don’t have the patience to wait until he’s properly asleep after his feeds before putting him back in the crib and then he just wakes up. I figure it’s better I position him properly between us in the bed than wait and accidentally fall asleep with him in my arms, which has happened. I do find the being awake in the night a lot more difficult this time than with Milo, which is probably because back then I wasn’t also being woken at 6am every day. Actually my parents were still here til today (Saturday), and my dad often got up with Milo and entertained him for an hour while I went back to sleep, so it’s only going to get worse on that front. It’s been amazing having my parents’ help until now, we haven’t really been tested yet as parents of two!
nyway, that’s enough baby based rambling for now!
