While my parents were here we went to Jupiter Artland on one of Milo’s nursery days (purely cosmetic 4 adults and 2 kids do not fit in a car – he would have loved it). It’s a sculpture park outdoor museum type place in West Lothian. We’d only been once before four (!) years ago (blogged here) and then we had cycled all the way there so we didn’t pay to get in and just looked at the stuff between the gate off the road and the place where you pay, which actually turns out is about a third of what there is, but we didn’t know that then. Anyway we did look at it all this time, and I took a picture of most of the artworks. I probably went a bit overboard with putting all the photos into this post, but if that’s not enough, there’s more the Flickr set, where I’ve also noted all the artists and names of the artworks. Some big name artists, which I didn’t realise!
Hopefully we’ll be back again soon with Milo, it is a very kid friendly place, it was full of kids (some of the artworks were being used as climbing frames as you can see with that Anthony Gormley) and we actually bumped into one of the mums from my NCT class, who lives five minutes away and goes there all the time. I would too if I lived in the west, but I’m still not so crazy about driving, you do get spoilt when you live in the city where you can walk most places.
