Onyx shirt number 3

Onyx shirt with long sleeves

Another onyx shirt! This one has three quarter length sleeves. They were meant to be long actually, but I underestimated how long they would need to be so had to chop them to 3/4 length. They’re not entirely even now annoyingly, although I’m not sure how much of this is due to my rubbish hemming abilities vs me having uneven shoulders/bad posture. I’m starting yoga again this week so that should help with the latter at least!

The fabric was a pressie from Veronica Darling, she sent it when I was looking for scraps for bunting, but there was plenty so now I have a lovely top. I’m a bit annoyed with myself for putting that fabric imperfection on my shoulder there (it’s in the print repeat not just a one off) in the front rather than on the back piece. Oh well! He fabric is a fairly light weight cotton, which means in the shirt is nice and floaty! Could have done with an iron mind, but these were taken while we were away and I didn’t have an iron. Oh well x2!

I’m planning two more of these then I’ll stop because it’s getting a bit ridiculous. But it’s nice to get value out of a pattern!

I cannot see the imperfection in the fabric and the top looks really good Franca.
You can always make more and sell them !

Thanks! No way re the selling! I’ve got one job, that’s quite enough for me and no time to sew as it is!

I can’t see the imperfection either. This looks great. Love the colour. I also love your blog overhall! Your sketched profile pic is perfect, and I love the header. Did you do this yourself, or did you get someone else to do it for you? Apologies if you’ve already posted about this and I’ve missed it! 🙂

It’s actually almost completely hidden under my hair, you can see it a bit in the last picture. It’s a white splodge.

I’ve been tinkering with the blog design for a while, still got loads to change though. I’d only changed the profile pic the day of your comment. It’s from our family portrait by and smile studio, I just desaturated it a bit. My sister made the header in paper, she’s into scrapbooking. Isn’t it great? I asked for something with knitting, sewing and clothes in it. I’m not totally happy with my photoshopping yet though. She sent me it as a photo, and the white paper came out grey, and darker on one side, so I had to erase quite a bit of the background and I’m not sure it’s very tidy and obviously I left some background between the letters in the oranges cos I was lazy. I might have another go to remove the remaining background.
