Alnwick gardens

Still more excessive photoage from our weekend in Northumberland the other week. This is from Alnwick Garden, a botanical garden next to Alnwick Castle. It’s all really well designed for kids. There’s the trucks by the entrance and then there’s a fairy tale themed treasure hunt that leads you on a path through everything – that’s what the frog and the magical door and Humpty Dumpty were from. There was dressing up clothes as well. Sadly Milo wasn’t keen, we haven’t got him into dressing up yet and he does tend to get shy/scared around people he doesn’t know offering him things. At the end of the treasure hunt there was some craft activity too. By this point we were all ready to go home, but we took away a couple of paddles to decorate and I took the picture for ideas of what to do with them. We spent all day in there, so although I originally thought it was a bit over priced for a garden, I would definitely get a membership if I lived round there.

The other thing to mention is that we had lunch in a treehouse! It’s a fairly posh restaurant, which is set within a tree. There’s also lots of wobbly pathways through the trees and a take away cafe.

Die blaue Tür mit den Goldsternen ist ja hübsch! Überhaupt sieht es aus, als gäbe es wirklich viel zu entdecken.
    Liebe Grüße, Naomi

Oh it looks beautiful in the gardens. We are still yet to go as I thought that it was a bit expensive too for what it was and I am the only one in our house that gets excited by the thought of spending a day looking at plants. 🙂 Your photos are great. I LOVE the tree house and could quite happily spend a day in that alone. Xx
