Since I’ve started sewing more frequently and no longer feel like a complete fraud when I go to sewing blogger meet ups, I’ve stuck loads of sewing blogs in my reader, including the blogs of loads of pattern designers. It’s quite dangerous cos I’ve got more than enough patterns to be getting on with and I really don’t want to start creating a pattern stash. It’s bad enough with the fabric!
Anyway one of the things I came across I am really tempted by is this cycling cape from the new sportswear based sewaholic pattern collection. It doesn’t really meet a need, as I’ve already got a fancy cycling jacket, and it’s actually not all that practical (it’s cold, I need sleeves), but I just love the way it looks and it’d be good for a lightweight waterproof cover up, wouldn’t it? It’s advanced, but really how hard can it be? There’s no fitting issues because cape, the piping is optional (although it is one of the things i really like about it) and Dave made an advanced coat for his third garment!
But first I have to make all my various bits from the patterns I’ve got!
And since we’re talking sewing, there’s another sewing blogger meet up on 31 October if anyone fancies! We’ll be going to the new costume exhibition in the Kelvingrove gallery in Glasgow followed by lunch somewhere nearby. Everyone welcome! Anyone fancy it, please get in touch with your email address and I’ll stick you on the email list.
