Some thoughts on ‘flattering’

Today I’ve got a couple of new things to show you! The first is the dress. It is by COS, and as you can see, it’s their signature oversized style. I am really into oversized things but I’ve never known if they suit me or not on account of boobs and very much not sticky legs. And turns out that indeed, they are not the most flattering thing (and by flattering everyone means it makes you look thin, which is ridiculous enough). HOWEVER. I DON’T CARE. Yes, it makes me look massive, but you know what, that’s fine, because why should the highest measure of a garment be if it makes you look thin? I love the way this dress feels, it swings around in a lovely airy way, its soft and comfortable. So there, society, I am making myself look fat on purpose!

More flattering here but I am not going to spend all day with my hand pointed into my waist

That being said, I do need to mention though that I do not recommend anyone buys this dress, because the quality is not great. It’s a lovely looking fabric, it’s blue on the outside and red on the inside which gives a lovely subtle effect, and it’s also super soft. The only problem is that on its very first wear (this), it formed little see through bubbles/pilling where the fabric got in contact with stuff (my bag, back of legs from sitting down etc). This is not a good thing. If I had still had the order form I would have sent it back, but I’d already returned something else so I guess I’ll just keep wearing it. It is amazingly comfortable, but still, that is ridiculous!

felted silk scarf

The other new thing in this outfit is the scarf. It’s by Paper High, who are an online Fairtrade gift company and I was sent it to try out. Lots of what they sell is notebooks and knick knacks and stuff, which isn’t really for me, but I love these scarves. It’s a printed floral silk scarf with felted bits in different colours brushed on. Cool, isn’t it? It’s quite a warm scarf, definitely more autumn than nearly summer. It’s made in Kathmandu in Nepal by hand, and of course like everything else it’s Fair Trade. There’s also a few other things on that website that I really like, some of the leather bags are lovely, and I really love this rug! (Those are not affiliate or sponsored links btw, I just really like the products so happy to share)

Some days these are the dresses we need. Plus the color looks good and even better with the scarf.
If you ever wanted you could also belt it.
