I’ve randomly got my charity shopping mojp back again recently, helped in large part with the age concern shop on Clerk Street closing down and dropping it’s prices. I bought a couple of things at half price and then 5 things for £4.50 at the very end. I used to go on about this a lot when I went charity shopping more often, but I honestly don’t understand why charity shops price things so high. There was never anyone in that shop until it started lowering its prices and then it was mobbed. I just think if they stopped pricing used high street branded clothes at barely less than you could get it new on sale, maybe they would actually start shifting things instead of hanging on to them for ages, having to pay for storing them, and then them eventually ending up at the side of a road in Africa.
Anyway, one of the things I bought was this mustard batwing top. I love wearing mustard, but I actually have one thing in that colour, so I went for it even though I wasn’t 100% sure about the shape, but given that it was only £1 I went for it anyway. Turns out I was kind of right about the shape. I’m not sure what it is, maybe it’s too short, or maybe it’s it being a button down shirt, but I look huge in all these pictures. So I guess I’m not quite over wanting stuff to look flattering. To be honest I’ve got no idea what body shape I am any more, and what shapes suit me. Ah well, at least it’s a good colour!
The other thing to mention is new glasses! They’re from Glassesshop.com, sent for a review. I’m a big fan or buying glasses online, it means I can have several pairs to change around. You oviously don’t get the opportunity to try them on but I know that big acetate ones are good for me, so I can have a good guess. I have been wanting to try cats eyes for a while, so I chose those, and I went with Tortoise, because I have another tortoise pair (not from this company) which I love but the anti glare thing has come off and it looks stained. Anyway, I am delighted with them, they’re not too full on but I feel confident now that I can try more full on cats eye shapes. So thanks Glasses Shop! Worth having a look for eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses if you fancy – you get 50% off the already super low prices with code GSHOT50.
