More Arran photos. It’s taking me ages to sort through them all. This batch is from our walk to the King’s caves, the caves where legend has it Robert the Bruce was hiding and saw a spider restart its web which inspired the ‘try, try again’ speech to his troops which ultimately won them the Battle of Banockburn. This is just one of the caves that lay the claim to this story and there doesn’t seem to be any evidence that this was it or even that the 3 months hiding even happened. They don’t make a thing about it anyway, there’s no signage or explanation or anything on them, just a very weathered spider puppet, and the caves really just look like any other caves. But the round trip walk to them is lovely, going through forests, fields, along the cliffs and on the beach. It’s just such a beautiful landscape! It was a 2 and a half hour walk and Ellis walked maybe about 20 minutes of it. Dave was a champ with the shoulder carrying!
